Pre-Season Tryout and Conditioning Camp

Our Pre Season School runs for 6 days and prepares players for tryouts or evaluations depending on the age or skill level of each player. Our sessions run for 1 hour or 1 ¼ hrs. twice each day, and include a 1 hr. dryland training program run over 5 days by Gold’s Head Trainer Eric Cronier . Saturday is “Our P.E.H.S. Big Game Day” where we have the players compete in a game especially for you parents.

Our hockey sessions are headed up by Coach Glenn Wheeler and his competent staff. It is very important to note that our Nationally Certified Hockey Coaches are all presently coaching Rep. or University Hockey Teams (See “About Us”) guaranteeing that they are well aware of how Hockey Coaches will be evaluating players during Fall tryouts .

Each of our Pre Season Power Skating Accelerated, Stick Skills Magnified and Game Playing Successfully Programs were prepared and will be taught to the players, providing them with the skills and knowledge necessary to impress all onlookers and evaluators.

After Day 1 of each camp our on ice Coaches will be doing their own evaluations and any player deemed to be over/under skilled for his/her group will be moved up or down appropriately, with the parents permission.

Elite Power Performance School

This program headed up by Coaches Glenn Wheeler(PEHS and RC Palmer Hockey Academy Head Coach) Milan Dragicevic (Head Coach UBC Thunderbirds) and Nick Alexantonakis(Former WHL player and European Trained Power Skating Instructor) runs for 1 ½ hours for each of 5 days.

The program will feature high intensity explosive power skating techniques and hockey skill development for players who are competing or want to compete at a higher level. It will provide the instruction and expertise needed to optimize skating techniques, power, acceleration and speed as well as complete mastery of stick skills and game management.

The program is for players who are looking to improve skating, stickhandling, shooting and scoring. All the sessions are geared as final tune-ups for tryouts or evaluations which may have or have not already begun.

The stickhandling portion focuses on agility, and advanced techniques utilizing small area moves to develop vision as well as time and space awareness.

Shooting and goal scoring techniques are highlighted from stationery positions to under pressure game situations. We will teach when, where and how to shoot to score. The players will also be taught awareness, seeking open space, quick release and overall excellence in stickhandling, shooting and skating, as outlined in the Program Content section

Our coaches have all participated in player evaluations and know exactly what is required and will put the player in the best position to succeed.

The sessions are timed so as not to interfere with tryouts but in fact to enhance his/her opportunity to achieve the results being sought.

This is our sixth year of offering this program and the parents whose players have attended the program in the past found it to be an outstanding skill development program which significantly improved the players’ performance during tryouts.
