Game Day is Parent’s Day

In keeping with the Guidelines of Hockey Canada 2013 and their initiative of having parents share in the Hockey Development of young athletes we have designated each of the first three Saturdays in August as Parents Day' at Richmond Ice Rinks.

Over these last nine years we have always had Saturday as Game Day because we know that many parents can’t get out to our daily sessions, so the Saturday gives parents the opportunity to watch their child’s hockey game and see the amazing improvement in their player over the week.

To go one step further we have arranged for every player, along with one parent each, to spend some time at Watermania Community Centre Swimming Pool after Saturday’s Game, on us. We will escort the players to the pool and they will have additional lifeguards assigned to handle our groups.

While this is an optional part to our hockey school agenda, we do hope that most of the players will want to enjoy their time with their friends and we do ask that for those who will participate parents accompany H3-4 and Atom Players to the pool, as chaperones, or ideally join the fun with your player inside the pool.

PeeWee, Bantam and Midget player’s attendance at the pool will be paid for, as well, by PEHS and arrangements to pick up the players at the Watermania location will be the responsibility of parents, who of course may want to join in the fun as well.

Our daily/weekly sessions which we have always run at the highest level will not change nor be affected by this additional activity. We see this as a way of thanking the Players and Parents alike for their support of the Pacific Elite Hockey School.
